I was born in Moscow, Russia, a city that, in retrospect, provided me with access to a wealth of educational resources and self-teaching opportunities. However, like many young people, I didn't fully appreciate these advantages at the time. I excelled in school, but I made a deliberate choice to attend college rather than university, as I felt it offered a more practical and hands-on approach to learning, compared to the more theoretical and certificate-driven university system.
After graduating from college with excellence, I began my career in the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. While my college qualification couldn't grant me a high salary in the government sector, my potential was recognized by my direct supervisor. He recommended me to his friend in the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, which proved to be a pivotal moment in my career.
Within a few years, I had advanced to hold official positions in various significant organizations, including the Ministry of Healthcare, the Ministry of Finance, and Rusatom Healthcare. Simultaneously, I took on the role of a college teacher and engaged in numerous other ventures. This period of my life was characterized by rapid professional growth and diversification, laying the foundation for my future endeavors and shaping my understanding of both the opportunities and challenges I encountered in my early career. These experiences instilled in me a strong work ethic and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures, skills that would prove invaluable later in my life.
Beyond my professional and travel experiences, I have a diverse range of hobbies that keep me engaged and fulfilled, contributing to a well-rounded and balanced life.
I'm committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise, including regular gym workouts and the discipline of Muay Thai training.
I'm also passionate about videography, possessing editing skills and particularly enjoying capturing aerial footage with drones, allowing me to showcase the places I visit from a unique perspective. I'm an avid follower of tech updates, and I enjoy staying informed about the latest advancements in technology, which is crucial in my field.
Motorcycles are another passion of mine, providing a sense of freedom and adventure, while learning new languages and immersing myself in different cultures remains a constant pursuit, driven by a desire to connect with people from all walks of life.
While I tended to be asocial, a trait stemming from feeling like an outsider in Russia due to my non-drinking habits, I've developed strong interpersonal skills through my travels and interactions with people from diverse backgrounds, embracing the identity of a "man of the world," but I'm not homeless, I'm a location-independent lifestyle enthusiast :D.
Ultimately, my hobbies reflect my commitment to personal growth, exploration, and a life lived on my own terms, contributing to my overall sense of well-being and fulfillment.
As I gained experience within the Russian government, my awareness of the world deepened. I observed increasing corruption, a lack of accountability, and learnt how government system works. While expressing such views might be seen as unconventional in a professional context, I believe I can be transparent on my own website. My personal well-being felt intertwined with the struggles of many less fortunate people.
This realization prompted my involvement in promoting human rights and government transparency. I participated in peaceful protests and found support from individuals within my government organizations who shared my concerns. However, my activism soon led to police detentions, signaling the limits of dissent. These experiences exposed me to the harsh realities of political repression. It became clear that meaningful change from within was unlikely, as most of the population supported the regime.
The war in Ukraine served as a breaking point; I could no longer reconcile my work with the reality of rockets falling on my friends. It wasn't necessarily about finding a better country, but rather a matter of no longer desiring to be associated with Russia in any way. My self-taught English reached a near-native level, confirmed by native speakers, giving me the confidence to leave. Armed with my skills and driven by my principles, I resigned from my jobs, liquidated my assets, and, facing limited options due to my government background, managed to escape to Sri Lanka.
My passion for experiencing new cultures drives my desire for a fully remote job, allowing me to explore the world while contributing professionally. My travels have taken me to many different countries, each offering unique insights. I'm familiar with my homeland's history and culture. I visited historical sites in Egypt. I also spent a transformative year in Sri Lanka, immersing myself in the local culture and learning some Sinhala phrases, fostering connections and understanding their way of life.
Seeking new experiences, my journey continued with a year-long stay in the Netherlands, where I gained a deep appreciation for the Dutch culture and its unique approach to life. Beyond the Netherlands, I explored Portugal for a couple of months, learning some essential words of the language and delving into its rich history, discovering hidden gems and savoring the local cuisine. Poland, with its beautiful city of Gdansk, captivated me during a memorable month-long visit, offering a compelling glimpse into its resilient spirit and maritime heritage.
My travels have also extended through Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Germany, each offering its own distinct charm and cultural experiences. Currently, I'm residing in Indonesia, learning about the local culture, particularly the Balinese Hindu traditions. These diverse experiences have broadened my perspective, enriched my understanding of the world, and instilled in me a deep appreciation for the diversity of human cultures, shaping my worldview and fostering a strong sense of global citizenship.
